To choose a computer training institute in Delhi, start from the job you want, then check the institute on practice time, batch size, software versions, who issues the certificate and what “placement” means in writing. For office, back-office, billing and accounts jobs, the training that matters is MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, email and online tools, plus Tally with GST for accounts roles. IPA – Institute of Professional Accountants teaches them at its campus in Laxmi Nagar, in courses from one month to a year. This page explains how to choose a course and an institute, and says plainly what IPA does and does not teach.
Start with the job you want, not the course name
Course names in Delhi vary from one institute to the next, and the same title can mean very different things. Work backwards from the role you want.
| If you want to work as | Course at IPA | Duration |
|---|---|---|
| Office assistant or admin, starting with little computer confidence | Computer course in Delhi (MS Office, Excel, Tally) | 3 months to 1 year, by modules |
| Data entry or back-office executive | Data entry operator course | 1 month (basic) to 1 year (diploma) |
| A broad computer diploma covering Office, Tally and basics of HTML | ADCA course (Advanced Diploma in Computer Application) | 6 months to 1 year |
| MIS, reporting or any spreadsheet-heavy role | Advanced Excel | 2 months |
| Billing or accounts assistant | Tally course | 1 month (basic) / 2 months (advanced) |
All of these carry placement assistance. Fee details depend on your batch and mode: use Know the fees and our counsellor will explain the fee, instalment options and what’s included.
How to judge a computer training institute in Delhi
Laxmi Nagar has many computer institutes, and most advertise the same things. These checks cut through the claims, whichever institute you are considering.
- Sit in on a class. Are students working on their own machines, or watching a teacher’s screen? You learn software by using it.
- Count the batch. A teacher cannot check the work of forty people. Batch size largely decides whether you get help when you are stuck.
- Check the software versions. Ask which version of MS Office is installed, and whether accounting classes use TallyPrime or the older Tally ERP 9.
- Ask who issues the certificate. Most private institutes, IPA included, issue their own course completion certificate. That is normal, but it is not a government or university qualification, and no one should suggest otherwise.
- Read the placement wording. “Placement assistance” means help with CVs, interview preparation and referrals. A “job guarantee” is a stronger promise and should come with written terms.
- Get the fee in writing, including instalments, registration charges and exam fees.
- Test the commute. A course you have to cross the city for is the one you stop attending in week six.
What computer training at IPA covers
IPA’s computer training is built in modules, so the length depends on what you take. The full module list, batches and durations are on the computer course in Delhi page; for a single one-year diploma that adds HTML basics, see the ADCA diploma course.
- Computer fundamentals: terminology, file handling, navigating the system, safe internet use.
- MS Office: Word for documents, Excel for data, PowerPoint for presentations.
- Advanced Excel and data handling: formulas and functions, data analysis, pivot tables and dashboards.
- Tally with GST: invoicing and financial reports, for anyone moving towards accounts work.
- Digital skills: email management, online collaboration tools and basic digital marketing concepts.
Classes run in the classroom at Laxmi Nagar, online or in a hybrid of both, with morning, afternoon and evening batches. Ask about weekend batches if weekdays do not suit you. Students receive a course completion certificate from IPA.
What IPA does not teach
IPA is an accounting and office-skills institute, founded in 2003. Its courses are built around the work of offices, accounts departments and small businesses. If you want to become a software developer, a graphic designer or a network engineer, a specialist institute will serve you better. ADCA includes HTML basics, but it is not a programming course.
Being clear about this saves you money. The right computer course is the one that matches the job you want.
Who these courses suit
- 10th and 12th pass students who need computer skills before their first job.
- Graduates who can use a phone confidently but freeze in front of a spreadsheet.
- People returning to work after a break, for whom office software has moved on.
- Small business owners who want to handle their own documents, spreadsheets and billing.
IPA’s guide for 12th pass and B.Com students choosing a computer institute goes into more detail for commerce students.
Placement support
IPA’s computer courses carry placement assistance: CV building, interview preparation and job referrals. They do not carry a job guarantee. IPA’s job guarantee applies to its accounting diplomas, subject to its terms. If an office job in accounts is your aim, IPA’s accounting course in Delhi overview explains those diplomas.

Frequently asked questions
Which computer course should I do after 12th?
If your computer skills are basic, start with MS Office and Excel. If you plan to work in accounts, add Tally with GST. ADCA suits those who want one broader diploma.
How long does a computer course take?
At IPA, from one month for a basic data entry course to a year for a diploma. The computer course runs three months to a year depending on the modules you choose.
What does a computer course cost at IPA?
Fees depend on the batch, mode and any current offer. Call or WhatsApp 9213855555, or use Know the fees; the counsellor explains instalments and inclusions.
Is IPA’s certificate government-recognised?
IPA issues its own course completion certificate. Employers hiring for office roles usually care more about what you can do in a practical test than about who issued the certificate.
Can I learn online?
Yes. The computer course runs in classroom, online and hybrid modes. Practical skills still need regular practice on your own computer between classes.
Which is the best computer training institute in Delhi?
There is no official ranking of private computer training institutes in Delhi. Shortlist two or three near you, sit in on a class at each, and compare batch size, time on your own computer, software versions, the certificate and the written placement terms.
What is the difference between a computer training institute and a computer course?
The institute is where you study; the course is what you study there. This page is about choosing the institute. For IPA’s course content and batches, see the computer course in Delhi page, or the ADCA course page for the one-year diploma.
